and her relatives and associates, a senior I-T official said on Monday.
I-T officials have also seized a considerable amount of diamond jewellery from various premises that is yet to be valued, the official said, adding that 16 bank lockers had been frozen so far.
Most of the property-related documents were seized from the properties of Sasikala's nephew and Jaya TV CEO Vivek Jayaraman, his sister Krishna Priya and their auditor. "We found documents about investments in shell companies," said the official.
About Rs 55 lakh in cash was seized from a women's college owned by Sasikala's brother V Dhivaharan at Mannargudi, the official said. From the Chennai house of Dhivaharan's daughter Rajamathangi, the sleuths seized documents pertaining to the import of a fleet of foreign cars. "We are probing the... imports," said the official. Several documents and Rs 19 lakh in cash were seized from the familyowned Midas Distilleries outside Chennai. "The seized documents show that at the time of demonetisation, huge amounts of old notes were converted into gold at Midas," said another senior official.
Meanwhile, after winding up the search operation on Monday, I-T investigation wing officials took Vivek to their office for questioning. His brother-in-law Prabu was taken too.
