SURAT: Police arrested two teenagers in Varachha police station on Monday for unlawful assembly and attacking BJP workers who were present at the election campaign office of Kumar alias Kishore Kanani.
The accused were shouting anti-BJP slogans outside Kanani's office on Sunday night and that led to tussle between both groups.
Police arrested Mitul Devani, 18 and his 17-year-old associate for allegedly creating ruckus at office Kanani at around 10.20 pm on Sunday. The complaint was lodged by Manharbhai Ambelal, assistant sub inspector since no one from BJP was ready to give a complaint in police.
A group of around 15 PAAS members have come to office of Kanani at around 10.20 pm on Sunday and started shouting slogans against BJP and 'Jai Sardar, Jai Patidar'. One of them later dragged a plastic chair and flung it in air. Soon Kanani's supporters have reacted and ran to stop the PAAS workers before they start hooliganism. Fearing that they will be thrashed the PAAS members started running from the spot.
Meanwhile, some BJP supporters have hit the PAAS members with the plastic chair while the PAAS members also attacked the BJP workers with the chairs. One of the arrested accused sustained minor injuries in the clash.
