BARGARH:Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik does not know the requirements of a farmer. Had he been aware of it, he would have provided them with irrigation, seed and right fertiliser, which are more important than mobile phones, said senior BJP leader K V Singhdeo.
Participating on the second day of week-long Satyagraha over farming issues at Bargarh, he said Naveen needs to be removed, if farmers expect any yield from their land.

Questioning the deductions from paddy in the name of Fair Average Quality (FAQ) and irregularities in procurement process, Singhdeo attributed the deaths of farmers to these issues.
He urged the farmers to get united against the Naveen Patnaik-led Government. Among others, district BJP president Narayan Sahu and State BJP vice-president Aswini Sahu were present.

Farmers help Brunda’s family

Bargarh: The sacrifice of Brunda Sahu will not go waste and it will inspire the farmers to fight for their rights, said farmer leaders. Farmers should not forget the contribution of Brunda and act as a pressure group to force the Government to protect the interest of farmers, they said at a meeting held to mark the 10th day of Brunda’s death at Kalapani here on Sunday. Farmer leaders Lingaraj, Murari Purohit, Sashi Tripathy, Debi Tripathy and Bargarh MLA Debesh Acharya spoke on the occasion. Later, they visited the house of Brunda and gave his family the financial help collected by the farmers.
