From the award winning series

KOCHI: Photography is an art almost everyone dabbles in, but perfection is achieved only when the click is right. For Rex, a self-taught photographer, photography is more than a profession. So much that he is constantly researching out-of-the box ways on how to make his shoots special. Recognition came calling him in the form of the ‘Honourable Mention Award’ under the advertising/fashion category, at the International Photography Awards 2017, which was held in New York recently.

He received the award for the ‘Indeever Jeans -Above The Others’ campaign. “There were 35 entries overall. It was a good moment for me as a photographer as I was the only Indian who was nominated,” said Rex. Besides photography, he has another passion- vlogging. Through his YouTube page, VLOGS, he is planning to share bits and pieces of his adventurous journey.

Unique shoots

Rex

ex believes in creating something unique that stands out from the crowd and has done almost a dozen shoots so far. He is a freelance photographer specialised in adverstising, fashion photography and celebrity portraiture. “I have been pursuing photography as a passion for four years now. I photograph for the experience of creating something beautiful, something unique; and I make sure that everyone associated with me gets the same experience while being part of the fun ride.”

The self-taught photographer was working as a RJ for a radio station in Dubai, when photography got the better of him after which he moved out of his full-time job as senior-brand, marketing and communications for Ernst & Young, six months back to pursue his passion, full-time. Over the years, his works have been featured in magazines such as Elle India, Femina and Ritz. He has also worked with prominent brands and events,  including Anand, Kingfisher Fashion Week, Mrs India - Kerala 2017, Hilton Hotels, MOD Signature and Cultus Haute Couture.
