India BPXI rode on captain Sanju Samson’s century on the second day of the warm-up game to end the match in a draw against Sri Lanka in Kolkata. The home side was losing wickets at regular intervals but Samson blocked one end and scored runs at will. He had small partnerships with Jiwanjot Singh, Rohan Prem and B Sandeep. He brought up his century shortly after Tea. The BPXI began on Sunday morning after Sri Lanka had declared their first innings at 411 for the loss of six wickets on day one. The visiting batsmen scored runs at will against the Indian side. Sadeera Samarawickrama made his case for selection before first Test with a 74-run innings off 77 balls.

03:45 pm: Both teams have decided to call it time. Match ends in a draw as BPXI reach 287 for the loss of five wickets.

03:20 pm: 71 overs bowled on day two by Sri Lanka and BPXI are 277 for the loss of five wickets. Sandeep and Saxena at the crease

01:15 pm: WICKET! Not what BPXI wanted at this moment. Rohan Prem was playing well but missed out. He is LBW off Dhananjaya de Silva. Gone for 39

01:00 pm: This is turning out to be another good partnership for BPXI. Sanju Samson has played the bigger role in this but Prem has also done well

12:40 pm: Sanju Samson once again looks to build a partnerhisp in the middle. He has Roshan Prem at the other end. India BPXI are 136 for the loss 3 wickets after 41 overs

12:20 pm: Sanju Samson brings up his half-century for BPXI. An excellent innings after the team had lost two early wickets

12:03 pm: WICKET! Dilruwan Perera has broken the stand. Jiwanjot Singh is caught behind and his slow but useful innings comes to an end

11:41 am: Players are back in the middle for the second session of play with Samson and Jiwanjot looking to score runs for BPXI who resume at 89 for 2

11:00 am: Lunch in Kolkata! It’s a session which Sri Lanka would be happy with. Two wickets and BPXI still trail by 372 runs. Sanju Samson and Jiwanjot Singh have helped BPXI survive it.

10:55 am: Sanju Samson is playing exceptionally well at the moment. He has reached 37 off just 43 balls and BPXI are 88 for 2 after 26 overs

10:40 am: Both Jiwanjot and Sanju Samson have made sure they play out the bowlers with respect. While the former has a strike-rate below 50, Samson is scoring qiuck runs

10:25 am: Sanju Samson and Jiwanjot Singh rebuilding the innings for BPXI. They have reached 60 for 2 after 18 overs. Sri Lanka have so far used five bowlers
