Surat: Four persons were booked at Khatodara police station for allegedly harassing a 24-year-old woman when she was going home on Saturday. The accused thrashed the woman's two colleagues when they tried to rescue her from them.

Police booked Amit Rajbahadur, a resident of Pandesara, and three of his associates on a complaint by the woman. The complainant was returning home from job in the afternoon when the accused stopped her near Metro Mall in Althan and pulled her dupatta, pressurizing to accept his proposal of marriage.

Meanwhile, two colleagues of the complainant who were standing at a distance rushed to save her from the harassment. Rajbahadur brought a stick from nearby and attacked the woman's two colleagues. He was joined by his three associates who too thrashed the victims and threatened to kill them if they ever intervened again in his matter.

The complainant alleged in her complaint that the accused has been harassing her for the past few months. The accused had even threatened her when she was with her parents.

Police are yet to make any arrest in the case. They are collecting evidences against the accused and taking statements of those present at the spot when the incident happened. Rajbahadur's three friends are yet to be identified.

Police said once the main accused Rajbahadur is arrested, they too would be nabbed.
