KMSS wants more arrests in APSC scam

GUWAHATI: Addressing a press conference in the city on Saturday, Krishak Mukti Sangram Samiti (KMSS) president Bhasco De Saikia said almost 77% of government appointments since 2013 have been influenced by money or political power.

"What about the influential political and student leaders who played a major role in this (cash-for-jobs) scam? We want the government to take strict action against all the leaders who were involved," Saikia said.

Of the officials accused in the scam, only 21 have either been arrested or have surrendered. The other four are also likely to surrender in the next couple of days. Several names on the list belong to relatives of famous political leaders and ministers of the state.
