Police begin probe into explosion at house

KOCHI:  The Ernakulam Rural police on Saturday registered a case and initiated probe in connection with an explosion at a house in Kallukuthimolam colony at Kuruppampady. The police also took the house owner Unnikrishnan into custody. The blast took place around 1.15 pm, the police said. The house was partially damaged in the blast. The police recovered a country-made gun from the house. Forensic experts have collected samples from the site to ascertain the explosives used in the blast
