Bring fuel items under GST to reduce inflation: Rahul

Vice President on Sunday urged the Central to bring fuel items under in order to check inflation, while keeping them under the 18 per cent slab at the maximum.

"It is country's voice. should stop giving excuses. on basic amenities used by ordinary people should be removed," Gandhi tweeted.

"To reduce the burden of inflation, they should bring petrol, diesel and gas cylinder under Fix one rate for which would be the least possible and should not be more than 18 per cent at any cost," he added.

Claiming victory for reduction of rates on more than 200 items, Gandhi on Saturday said his party will continue the fight for capping the tax at 18 per cent and promised the will do it if the Bharatiya Janata Party fails.

On Friday, the Council slashed tax rates on 178 goods from 28 per cent to 18 per cent and reduced the rates on several other items.
