BENGALURU: The negative impact of the government’s demonetization move is a short-term crisis, spiritual leader Sri Sri Ravishankar said here on Friday. The founder of The Art of Living was interacting with reporters on the sidelines of Global Leadership Forum  jointly organized by The Art of Living, The World Forum for Ethics in Business and the International Association for Human Values. Terming Prime Minister Narendra Modi as a “strong leader,” Ravishankar lauded his efforts. However, he added that even though the PM was taking significant steps, there needed to be a lot of improvement in the implementation of those measures. “Businesses are down. Though I am sure it will get better,” he said.

Sharing his thoughts on the ongoing Tipu Jayanti controversy, he said every leader had something good and something bad. “We should take the good things from the leader and also learn from the mistakes committed, to ensure that they are not repeated,” he said. The Global Leadership Forum saw 300 leaders from the government, business, sports and cultural sectors, including SBI Chairman Arundhati Bhattacharya, BJP leader Subramanian Swamy, activist Dr Vandana Shiva, sports celebrity Pullela Gopichand among others. The leaders deliberated on various topics such as ‘The Post Truth Era,’ ‘The time in which man and machine will become one’, ‘Leadership in an interdependent world’, ‘Irreversible globalisation’, among diverse topics.

Delivering his key note speech on the occasion, Ravishankar spoke about the need for leaders who worked in collaboration with all stakeholders. “Today, we need the kind of leaders who have a willingness to share and work together. When two people come together with a spirit of offering and collaboration, only then is progress possible,” he observed.
