Man’s body to be exhumed in Avinashi

TIRUPUR: The district rural police are expected to exhume the body of a man, who was found dead in mysterious circumstances in Avinashi this June, on Saturday.

Sundar Rajan, 58, of Kaikatti Puthur in Avinashi, who was a cashier with a private firm, was found dead on June 12, 2017. His body was buried in a cremation ground behind Avinashi new bus stand the next day.

Suspecting foul play in his death, his wife Kasthuri lodged a police complaint against one Selvalakshmi. The Avinashi police, however, registered an FIR only after a trail court intervened in the matter.

As there was no progress in the case, Kasthuri moved the Madras high court, seeking direction to police to exhume her husband's body and conduct a proper investigation. The court allowed her petition and directed the Avinashi police to exhume the body.
