GURUGRAM: A Class 10 of a private school was admitted to hospital on Friday after he fell unconscious allegedly on being thrashed by his sports teacher on the campus.
The boy's father alleged that the teacher hit the 15-year-old in the neck before banging his head against a wooden bench during the school hours, around 2pm. The boy was taken to a private hospital, where he regained his senses about two hours later.
Later, the student's father lodged a complaint against the teacher with the police but cops are yet to make any arrest.
Police said the student of Suraj School in Sector 75 had fainted allegedly after his teacher thrashed him in a fit of rage. The teacher had apparently got angry as the student was allegedly hooting inside the school.
Dr P S Bikal, the director of Ekta Hospital, where the student is still admitted, said, "The boy reached the hospital around 2.40pm in an unconscious state. Though he has regained consciousness and is stable now, we have kept him under medical supervision."
An FIR has been registered against the sports teacher under sections 323 (causing hurt), 506 (criminal intimidation) of the IPC at Badshapur police station.
"The boy and his family claimed that his sports teacher had hit him badly, causing severe pain in his neck. As per the complaint, a case has been filed and are investigating the matter," ASI Munshi Ram, the investigating officer, said.
Repeated attempts to get a version from the school authorities proved futile.
