Formula 1: Bottas starting on pole at Brazilian Grand Prix; Hamilton last!

Bottas takes pole at the F1 Brazilian Grand Prix ahead of the Ferraris of Vettel & Raikkonen. Hamilton starts last on the grid after a rare qualifying error!

The narrowest margin seperates Bottas and Vettel with the Finn taking pole from the German by 0.038 seconds. Kimi Raikkonen is a little bit away in third ahead of Red Bull driver Max Verstappen. The other Red Bull of Ricciardo will be starting way down in the grid in 14th after penalties for changing components on his car.

Perez was best of rest and will start fifth, ahead of Alonso’s McLaren. The two Renault’s of Hulkenberg and Sainz are next in seventh and eighth. Home hero and retiree Massa will start 9th and will look to finish strongly as the Brazilian will be racing at his home circuit for the last time. The second Force India for Ocon will start tenth.

Hamilton made a rare error in qualifying, losing the rear-end of his car in the beginning stages of Q1, crashing into the barriers damaging his Mercedes. We missed out on a great qualifying battle between the Mercedes and Ferrari, but hope the Brit will be able to make up positions and challenge for the win.

With all the titles and positions decided, the race weekend will be less tensed and hopefully more fun with some exciting racing, with nothing to lose for everyone. There was some slight spatterings of rain towards end of qualifying but Race Day is said to warm and sunny. See you Sunday at 21:30 IST!
