Several Bollywood celebrities also attended the awards. Sushant Singh Rajput, Riteish Deshmukh, Malaika Arora, Sidharth Malhotra, Aditi Rao Hydari, Sanjay Kapoor, Sohail Khan, Seema Khan and Nandita Mahtani were amongst the guests.

Indian cricketer Ashish Nehra, who recently bid adeau to international cricket, was spotted with his wife Rushma Mehra.

Former Indian cricketer Zaheer Khan attended the awards with financee Sagarika Ghatge.

Sania Mirza, who was also in attendance, spoke on 'Women of the Year' award and said, “I think we’ve had so many great women achievers in the last one year or so. So it's a tough pick. So it is going to be interesting to see.”

Paralympic silver-medalist Deepa Malik also attended the Indian Sports Honours. She won silver medal in shot put at the Rio Paralympics in 2016.

The Indian badminton trio have had a great year and have brought laurence to the country. “It's been a fantastic year so far, so I really want to finish off this year well. An award is definitely a good recognition for any sports person and I think, it definitely helps everybody to do well and inspire people,” said Srikanth.

Indian badminton national coach and former player Pullela Gopichand was among the sports fraternities.

Indian spinner R Ashwin was among the cricketers to attend the awards. Ashwin will be seen in whites against Sri Lanka. He has been phenomenal with the red ball for India.

Indian football skipper Sunil Chhetri has taken Indian football to another level. Under Chheti's captaincy, India have secured qualification for the 2019 AFC Asian Cup.
