Temple priest killed by unidentified assailants

A temple's priest was killed and a seer was seriously injured in Gaurapura village here allegedly after unidentified assailants attacked them with bricks, the police said today.

Vijay (50) was attacked by around six people when he was sleeping inside the temple last night. He died on the spot, SSP Vaibhav Krishna said.


The officer said that Lakkad Baba (55), who was also sleeping there, was seriously injured in the attack. He has been admitted to a hospital, the SSP said.

The body has been sent for post mortem and investigations are on, the officer added.
