"How big it will become is yet to be seen, we are pretty confident that it will be among the top 10 brands on the platform," said Bansal.
Ecommerce major Flipkart is all set to foray into the cluttered smartphone market with the launch of Capture+ on November 15. Produced under brand 'Billion', the private label arm is headed by Group chairman Sachin Bansal.

Capture+ will sport dual cameras and have super night mode and enable 'Bokeh' effect. The ecommerce company has setup a special page for the smartphone and it reveals that it will get fast charging support. While it is silent on what processor the phone would sport, there is buzz that it may run on Qualcomm Snapdragon 625. The phone also comes with unlimited cloud storage, full HD display and run on stock Android Nougat. Flipkart says it has tied up with 130 service centres across 125 cities across India.

Capture+ has been designed and manufactured with Smartron and has two versions priced at Rs 10,999 and Rs 12,999. Under this new private label, Flipkart wants to offer a range of products including mixers, grinders, cookware and backpacks, smartphones, T-shirts, electric irons, and more.

"How big it will become is yet to be seen, we are pretty confident that it will be among the top 10 brands on the platform," Bansal told ET.

Flipkart already runs the Big Billion Days sale and the company clearly wants to capitalize on the word 'Billion' and make it synonymous to its offerings.

When the company unveiled the brand in August, Bansal said "Billion is a Made in India and a Made for India brand. This is made for Indian consumers, Indian needs and Indian conditions in mind. We did a lot of data mining and analysis, and gathered consumer feedback. "
