Soon, drones will monitor the sewage and civic problems of AP's Eluru

ELURU: Now, drones will be monitoring sanitation, sewage problem and other civic problems in Eluru city.  Eluru MLA Badeti Kota Ramarao (Bujji) launched the drone services introduced by Eluru Municipal Corporation (EMC) on Thursday.In 17 km radius of EMC, the drones will take pictures of garbage situation, drainage situation, buildings under construction, street lights etc. The drones will be acting as a Hawkeye for the EMC officials to keep track of civic problems and attend them on a priority basis.

The MLA said that Drone Technology for monitoring civic problems is being used for the first time in the state and following the performance during the pilot project in Eluru, similar projects might be taken up in other civic bodies.  “It will help us in keep a tab on illegal structures, garbage position in different places in the city and help the civic body to keep the city clean,” he said.

According to EMC officials, after three days of the trail run, the drones were utilized in the city and they will be used on a periodic basis. They said the drones flew at the height of 200 feet. The HECHGUN company is providing and operating the drone to EMC. Explaining about the pilot project the company representative Vinay Babu that if anyone complained about a particular civic problem in particular area, the drone will concentrate on that particular area and visualize the area. “ This will enable the officials to move quickly to solve the problem”,  he said. The 3-day pictures taken by the drone were witnessed by the MLA, corporators, and officials.
