Explain how TRT won’t violate local area rule: HC to state

HYDERABAD: A division bench of the High Court on Thursday asked the Telangana government to tell as to how the new 31 districts of the state were taken into consideration for filling teacher posts through the Teachers Recruitment Test (TRT) when the Presidential Orders were applicable to the erstwhile 10 districts.The bench of acting chief justice Ramesh Ranganathan and justice Abhinand Kumar Shavili was dealing with a petition filed by G Arun Kumar and three others from Adilabad district, seeking direction to the state authorities concerned to conduct the said TRT by taking the erstwhile 10 districts of the state into consideration and implement the local areas rule for the purpose of study, residence and reservation in accordance with the Presidential Orders. 
The AG said there was no need to stay the TRT since the notification was issued following the Supreme Court direction. Syllabus would be the same for all the candidates irrespective of the district they represent and that the last date for submission of applications is Nov 30 and the examination would be held in February next year, he noted.
HC stays order allowing girl to study MBBS abroad
A division bench of HC comprising ACJ Ramesh Ranganathan and justice Abhinand Kumar Shavli, on Thursday, stayed the order of a single judge who permitted a 16-year-old-girl to study MBBS at a foreign university. The bench gave this interim order on an appeal made by the Medical Council of India (MCI).
As for the case, Mallesh from Nalgonda district filed a writ petition complaining that his 16-year-old daughter was ready to join a foreign university for MBBS course but the MCI rejected her application for permission. Dealing with petition, a single judge permitted her to pursue the course. The MCI filed an appeal before the division bench. After hearing the case, the bench suspended the order of single judge. When the rules do not permit a student aged below 17 years to study MBBS, the parents should not pressure the student, the bench observed.
