Oscar-winning actor J.K. Simmons has revealed that he would happily return as J. Jonah Jameson, the editor of Daily Bugles in Marvel’s reboot of Spider-Man. The 62-year-old-actor has shared that he loved playing Jameson in the 2002 film Spider-Man and would very much like to make a return to the character in Tom Holland’s new franchise of the superhero, according to Contactmusic. At the moment J.K. Simmons finds himself on the other side of the comic book aisle, in the DC Comics franchise. He takes on the role of Commissioner James Gordon in Warner Bros’ Justice League.

While speaking in an interview to an entertainment channel, J.K. Simmons said, “I never say never. I mean, you know, obviously, I had an amazing time with Sam Raimi on those movies and Tobey Maguire and everybody. That was a great, great time and huge for my career and my life, and just pure fun.” Adding to it he said, “If there were an opportunity to revisit that, I don’t know though. How old is ‘Spider-Man’ going to be if J. Jonah Jameson is this old?”

J.K. Simmons’ J. Jonah Jameson was so true to the character that Marc Webb’s The Amazing Spider-Man films never even attempted to cast the cantankerous newsman. He had shared the screen with Tobey Macguire. Later Marvel had released three more films of Spider-Man, starring Andrew Garfield and very recently Tom Holland.

Tom Holland had a cameo as Spider-Man in Captain America: Civil War. His entry into Marvel hinted that he will also be joining the Avengers team. In 2018, he will be seen as an integral part of Avengers: Infinity War.
