Hollywood bigwigs who have been accused of sexual harassment so far

More than 20 Hollywood bigwigs have been accused of sexually harassment.

The recent allegations of sexual misconduct against Hollywood bigwigs like Harvey Weinstein, Kevin Spacey and many others has brought to limelight the privileged positions these people have exploited over the years. Ever since the reports against Weinstein appeared in The New York Times and The New Yorker, many men and women have courageously come out to share their harrowing experiences with Hollywood bigwigs who use their clout in the business to take advantage of others. These episodes range from rape to propositions where individuals were asked to engage in sexual activity in order to advance in their careers. With popular Hollywood actors like Angelina Jolie and Gwyneth Paltrow coming out with their experiences, many others gained confidence to share their stories as well. Until now, this issue was never blatantly discussed with perpetrators’ names as the victims were threatened by these so-called ‘powerful’ men.

So far, more than 20 individuals have been accused of sexually harassment and this list just keeps expanding with every passing day.

1. Louis C.K.

Sexual misconduct allegations against the comedian have been brought to light by The New York Times. Five women have alleged that the comedian harassed them in person and over the phone.

2. Harvey Weinstein

After the reports published by The New York Times and The New Yorker, more than 75 women who have accused Weinstein of rape and sexual harassment. This includes actors like Angelina Jolie and Ashley Judd and many of the women who have worked under Weinstein.

3. Kevin Spacey

Anthony Rapp came out with sexual harassment allegations against the House of Cards actor and soon after, many other people who have worked with Spacey revealed their tumultuous experiences with the actor.

4. Matthew Weiner

Mad Men creator Matthew Weiner has been accused of sexual harassment by a former staff writer, Kater Gordon. Weiner’s spokersperson said that he “does not remember saying this comment nor does it reflect a comment he would say to any colleague.”

5. Dustin Hoffman

Two women have come forward with allegations against actor Dustin Hoffman. Both allege that Dustin’s behaviour was absolutely inappropriate for workplace. In a statement after the scandal, the actor said, “I am sorry. It is not reflective of who I am.” .

6. Jeremy Piven

Famous for his role in the HBO series Entourage, Jeremy has been accused of sexually harassing four women. Jeremy has since denied all the claims and has even offered to take a lie detector test to prove his innocence.

7. Ben Affleck

Soon after allegations against Weinstein came to light and Affleck issued a statement condemning his actions, actor Hilarie Burton accused Affleck of behaving in a sexually inappropriate manner. Make-up artist Annamarie Tendler also accused Affleck of touching her inappropriately.

8. Brett Ratner

Six women have come out with sexual harassment allegations against producer Brett Ratner which includes actors Olivia Munn and Natasha Henstridge. Ratner’s attorney denied all the charges.

9. Oliver Stone

Director Oliver Stone has been accused of groping a former Playboy model, Carrie Stevens. Stone is yet to respond to these allegations.

10. James Toback

More than 38 women have alleged that the Hollywood writer and director sexually harassed them. Toback denied these allegations saying that he had never met these women and he has no recollection of them. He also claimed that it would be biologically impossible for him to engage in such behaviour.

11. Ed Westwick

Gossip Girl actor was accused of sexual assault by actor Kristina Cohen. Ed denied the incident completely through a Twitter post. After Cohen’s post, former actor Aurélie Wynn alleged that Westwick had raped her in 2014. Ed denied these charges as well.

12. Steven Seagal

Actress Portia de Rossi tweeted that while auditioning, Steven unzipped his leather pants in front of her. The Good Wife actor Julianna Margulies had earlier revealed that she felt intimidated by Steven after he showed her a gun in a hotel room.

13. Danny Masterson

Former star of That ‘70s Show, Danny Masterson, has been accused of rape by four women. Danny presently stars in the Netflix series, The Ranch, and the streaming service has not terminated their contract with him.

14. Jeffrey Tambor

Tambor’s former assistant, actor Van Barnes alleged that the actor behaved in a sexually inappropriate manner. Tambor currently stars in the Amazon series, Transparent. Tambor has since addressed these claims as “baseless”.

15. Bob Weinstein

Days after Bob criticised his brother Harvey’s behaviour, Amanda Segel, who worked as an executive producer with Bob revealed that he repeatedly tries to sexually harass her. Bob Weinstein’s lawyers have denied these claims.

16. Roy Price

Amazon Studios chief Roy Price stepped down from his position after reports of his sexual misconduct came out. Roy or his representatives have not made any statement about the allegations.

17. Charlie Sheen

Sheen has been accused of sexually assaulting a then 13-year-old Corey Haim while filming Lucas. Corey Haim died in 2010. Sheen has denied the claims of assaulting Corey.

18. Bill Cosby

Cosby has been accused by multiple women of rape, child sexual abuse and sexual misconduct with the earliest incidents allegedly happening in the 1960s. Cosby has maintained that he is innocent and has denied allegations spanning over four decades.

After his divorce with Mia Farrow, her daughter Dylan, then aged 7, told her mother of the abuse she had faced with Allen. In 2014, Dylan repeated these allegations through an open letter. Charges against Allen were eventually dropped.

In 1977, filmmaker Roman Polanski was accused of raping a 13-year-old girl. He received a sentence for his crimes but fled to France just one day before. He has since been residing there.
