HYDERABAD: The unidirectional underpass at Ayyappa Society Junction, being built under the Strategic Road Development Plan (SRDP) to ease traffic congestion between Kondapur and Ayyappa Society, will be  thrown open to traffic in December as its construction is nearing completion in  record time.  Though the scheduled completion of work is March 2018, the GHMC is leaving no stone unturned to complete it at the earliest. The underpass became necessary as the existing peak-hour traffic flow is 9,500 to 10,000 vehicles, which may go up to 19,000 to 19,500 in 2035.
