Nagpur: Rahul Dhoke, Manager of Central Bank of India, Mouda branch, has been booked by the Anti-corruption bureau (ACB) of Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) for allegedly demanding illegal gratification through monetary favours. An offence has been registered on Wednesday against Dhoke under section 7 of Prevention of corruption Act for demanding Rs5,000.

Vishnu Shinde, complainant in the case, had applied for a loan of Rs1.33 lakh for setting up a grocery shop at Mouda. He had also approached District Industry Centre (DIC) for sanctioning of his scheme last year to start a grocery shop with a loan mortgaging his ancestral land. The DIC recommended Central Bank of India's manager for loan and also granted a government subsidy of Rs26,600 in favour of Shinde.

On October 27, Dhoke had sanctioned the loan. Accordingly, a DD of Rs1.33 lakhs was prepared in the favour of Raviraj Agency of Ramtek which was supposed to supply the grocery materials to Shinde for his venture. It was during handing over the DD that Dhoke learnt to have made the demand of a kickback from Shinde within couple of days.

On November 3, Shinde has claimed in his complaint that Dhoke has made around 10 to 15 calls to the complainant trying to remind him about the favour he had sought from him as commission. Shinde was left mentally harassed due to the relentless calls.

On the following day, Dhoke took Shinde to the owner of Raviraj Agency at Ramtek compelling him to get the amount from him. As the amount was not arranged as per his demand, Dhoke is learnt to have threatened to ensure that he would let Shinde settle his mortgage of the ancestral farm land. Shinde approached CBI where PI HS Jangir registered the offence under supervision of SP, CBI, Vijayendra Bidari.
