Sachin Tendulkar chose the 1999-2000 semifinal against Tamil Nadu as the best he has played in the Ranji Trophy.
The match, played at the Wankhede Stadium in April 2000, saw Tendulkar make an unbeaten 233 that helped the hosts take a first-innings lead of five runs and eventually win by eight wickets.
Tendulkar, at a function to celebrate Mumbai’s 500th Ranji Trophy match at the Wankhede Stadium from Thursday, said: “I had to make an adjustment to my stance (in front of the crease and behind) after hearing Hemang Badani, who was fielding at point, alert the bowler saying munnadi (front).
“The ball, after being changed, began to reverse and I had to make adjustments. After the innings, I told Hemang I know Tamil,” said Tendulkar.
