JAIPUR: The ongoing strike by in-service doctors for pay hike and allowances took a serious turn on Wednesday as resident doctors threatened to join the strike if the government fails to address their demands.
Dr Ravi Jhakar, president, Jaipur Association of Resident Doctors (JARD), said, "If the government fails to take initiative to resolve the issues of striking doctors, medicos will be forced to go on an indefinite strike from Thursday afternoon."
The resident doctors in Jaipur had boycotted work for two hours from 9 am to 11am on Wednesday, he said.
Blaming the government for creating this healthcare crisis, he said the in-service doctors have been agitating in a Gandhian way for over three months. But the government has not paid any heed to their demands.
