Market Now: BSE Consumer Durables index rises over 1%; Bajaj Electricals, Titan among top gainers

NEW DELHI: Gains in shares of Crompton Greaves Consumer Electricals (up 4.28 per cent), Symphony (up 3.97 per cent), Bajaj Electricals (up 1.87 per cent) and Titan Company (up 1.32 per cent) were keeping the BSE Consumer Durables index up in afternoon trade on Thursday.
The S&P BSE Consumer Durables index was trading 1.44 per cent up at 19,897 around 12:45 pm (IST).
Shares of Blue Star (up 0.72 per cent), PC Jeweller (up 0.67 per cent), Whirlpool of India (up 0.65 per cent) and Rajesh Exports (up 0.27 per cent) were also trading up.
However, TTK Prestige (down 1.80 per cent) and Nilkamal (down 0.30 per cent) were trading in the red.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was 17 points down at 10,286, while the BSE Sensex was 39 points down at 33,180.
Among the 51 stocks in the Nifty50 index, 19 were trading in the green, while 31 were in the red.
ICICI Bank, Asian Paints, Reliance Industries, NTPC, Hindustan Unilever, Bharti Airtel and Adani Ports were the top gainers in the Sensex index.
On the other hand, Oil & Natural Gas Corporation, HDFC, ITC, Axis Bank, Coal India, Sun Pharma, Lupin and Power Grid Corporation were the top losers.
