Jagran Prakashan, the publisher of leading Hindi daily Dainik Jagran, today reported a decline of 16 per cent in its consolidated net profit at Rs 72.23 crore for the September quarter of the current fiscal.
The company had posted a net profit of Rs 86.05 crore during the July-September period a year ago, Jagran Prakashan said in a BSE filing.
Its total income during the quarter under review was up 2.30 per cent to Rs 579.08 crore as against Rs 566.03 crore in the corresponding quarter of the last fiscal.
Jagran Prakashan's total expenses in the second quarter of the financial year 2017-18 were up 6.58 per cent to Rs 469.32 crore as against Rs 440.34 crore in the corresponding period of the previous fiscal.
Revenue from printing, publishing and digital business during the period stood at Rs 465.80 crore, up 0.84 per cent, as against Rs 461.88 crore in the same period of the last fiscal.
The revenue from FM radio segment was up 9.53 per cent to Rs 75.82 crore as compared with Rs 69.22 crore in the year- ago period.
Shares of Jagran Prakashan today closed 0.12 per cent down at Rs 172.55 apiece on BSE.
