The sands of the city’s coast will stir to life with a grand musical festival featuring some of the country’s most prominent names in the music field on November 11 and 12.

AP Tourism and the district administration will be hosting a two-day ‘Sounds on Sand’ music festival on the beach opposite YMCA. Organised by event management firm E-Factor, the festival will see artistes like Baiju Dharmajan, Usha Uthup, Leslie Lewis and Revanth of Indian Idol fame performing in the city.

Addressing a media conference here on Wednesday, district Collector Pravin Kumar said, “The event is not just for entertainment purpose. We plan to make this an annual feature. Our aim is the branding of the events at the national and international level in such a way that people across the globe will wait to be a part of it every year. This will lead to a big growth in the tourism industry of the region.”

‘Sounds on Sand’ will begin with hour-long performances of guitarist and music composer Baiju Dharmajan and singer Vijay Hegde at 7 a.m. on November 11 at the beach venue.

The two-day festival will also provide a platform to local bands and artistes to showcase their talent.
