The Airports Authority of India has announced to spend Rs. 17,500 crores to upgrade and expand airports infrastructure in the country.The authority, which has witnessed a surge in its developmental plans, has recorded its highest ever profit of Rs 3115.93 crores during the fiscal year 2016-17 with an increase of 22.81 per cent over the previous year. AAI Chairman Dr. Guruprasad Mohapatra believes that the authority has a motive to move forward by rapidly developing infrastruture.With the soaring air traffic in the country, the Airports Authority of India is extensively working at various layers of modernisation including expansion and upgradation of the current terminals and airports, Strengthening of Runways, Communication Navigation and Surveillance.The Airports Authority of India says its endeavour has been to make passenger’s life comfortable and enjoyable and they are doing everything possible to realise the dream.India’s growing global rank in the aviation sector is testimony to the fact that the Airports Authority of India is strongly committed to its motto of upgrading airports for delivering better services to air travelers.
