Behind the blue wave were disaffected voters
Described as a historic evening, Tuesday night produced unprecedented victories for the Democratic Party in Delaware County with two seats on county council, a sweep of the row offices and other victories around the county. District Attorney Jack Whelan was the only Republican to win a countywide race, taking a seat on the Common Pleas Court.

Former East Norriton man admits possessing child porn a second time
A former East Norriton man on probation for possessing child pornography has admitted to possessing the illegal material again while residing most recently at a New Hanover residence. Dylan Gehris, 24, formerly of the 100 block of Stoney Way in East Norriton, pleaded guilty in Montgomery County Court to a charge of sexual abuse of children possessing child pornography in connection with incidents that occurred between August 2016 and March 2017 while he was residing at a home in the 3000 block of Middle Creek Road in New Hanover.
Hatfield man faces February trial in fatal shooting of party guest
A Hatfield Township man pleaded not guilty to charges he killed another man during a house party in July and he will take his case to a jury in several months. Derrick Jason Cosby, 43, of the 2400 block of East Orvilla Road, waived his arraignment in Montgomery County Court on Tuesday and pleaded not guilty to charges of voluntary manslaughter and possessing an instrument of crime in connection with the 11:45 p.m. July 22, 2017, shooting death of Jeremy Chasteen, 31, during a party at Cosby’s home.
Pottstown man charged in Lower Pottsgrove overdose death to face trial
A Pottstown man will face a trial after he is accused of providing drugs to a Lower Pottsgrove man who died of an overdose in late March. Ronald Purvis, 32, of East High Street has been charged with drug delivery resulting in death, manufacture, delivery or possession with intent, use or possession of drug paraphernalia, involuntary manslaughter, recklessly endangering another person, hindering apprehension of evidence, obstruction of law, tampering with evidence and abuse of a corpse.

Few came to Philadelphia the way Roy Halladay came to the Phillies. Few, then, will leave so many Phillies fans saddened, now that he is gone. Halladay died Tuesday when the plane he owned and was piloting crashed into the Gulf of Mexico. He was just 40, here, then gone, too, too soon. In that, his Phillies career — just four years — would be a fair reflection of his professional life: Quick but brilliant, and so tough for the fans to let go.

We all speak the same musical language,” said Nelson in a phone interview from Champaign, Ill.
