BMC to render services in AIIMS

BHUBANESWAR: All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) has urged Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) to  provide sanitation and other services in the area. At a meeting on Wednesday between hospital and BMC officials, the civic body agreed to provide sanitation services on payment basis till AIIMS area comes under its control. BMC had recently passed a resolution for including Sijua village under its jurisdiction, where AIIMS is situated.

According to the Corporation, around 436 acres of land, including the village which comes comes under Ransinghpur panchayat, will be merged with the civic body. BMC officials said they visited the area and outlined the regions for setting-up dustbins, providing solid waste management (SWM) services, among others.

Officials said, they have launched a drive to catch stray cattle in the area for the convenience of commuters and caught two bulls on Wednesday. BMC officials said they will urge the State Government to provide funds for carrying out developmental activities in the area.
