GURUGRAM: A 21-year-old man was booked for allegedly raping a 15-year-old girl in Gandhi Nagar, police said on Thursday.
The crime took place in May this year when the girl, a Class 9 student visited Gurgaon to meet her family. She did not disclose the matter to anyone as the accused had threatened her of dire consequences. It was in November when her mother visited her native place in Bihar, the victim confided in her that Shankar, who lived in next door in Gurgaon had raped her in May. She was later brought to Gurgaon where a complaint was lodged.
The father of the girl in his complaint stated,"My wife returned from the village with my daughter who told us that Shankar had raped her repeatedly when we were at work and she was alone at home. The uncle of the accused also aided him."
An FIR has been registered against Shankar and his uncle under section 6 (aggravated penetrative sexual assault) of the IPC at the women's police station. "The girl was produced before a city court on Thursday. She recorded her statement under section 164 of Crpc," said sub-inspector Mukesh Kumari, the investigating officer.
