* The residence of sidelined AIADMK leader TTV Dhinakaran at Mannai Nagar in Mannargudi, Sasikala's brother Dhivakaran's house at Sundara Kottai and the premises of their supporters were also being searched. Raids also conducted+ at the residence of Vivek Jayaraman in Chennai and Jazz Cinemas owned by Sasikala's family members.
*The Residence of Pugazhendi, Karnataka AIADMK secretary, the residence of Dr Namadhu MGR, AIADMK mouth organ floated by former CM J Jayalalithaa, The palatial hill retreat of Jayalalithaa, Kodanad estate, Sasikala's elder brother Sundaravadanam's residence in Gandhi Nagar in Pudukkottai, and Sasikala's husband M Natarajan's Thanjavur residence were also raided.
*Heavy security was reported from outside the television channel office as the channel continues to function.
*The IT Department has been selective in conducting searches, said Jaya TV spokesman Kasinathan.
*The spokesman added that Jaya TV is not a property of AIADMK and it is controlled by Sasikala family.
* Though started by former Tamil Nadu chief minister J Jayalalithaa, Jaya TV, has been controlled by Sasikala's family members, led by her nephew Vivek Jayaraman. The channel has been highly critical of the functioning of the AIADMK government after the unification of the factions led by chief minister Edappadi K Palaniswami and former chief minister O Panneerselvam in August.
*The raids are aimed at targetting TTV Dhinakaran who take on BJP+ unlike his rivals, who are subservient to Centre, said CPI state secretary R Mutharasan.
*The IT searches against Sasikala family comes a day after Dhinakaran criticised the Centre's demonetization and GST, said TTV Dhinakaran spokesperson Prasanna.
