The Rajasthan government seem to have stunned the striking doctors on Wednesday by adopting a new measure.

Army extends help to ailing people in Rajasthan

Doctors from the Army are helping to maintain medical service even as the state government serving doctors' strike continued on the third day today.

The army extended support to the Rajasthan administration by providing a team of doctors, nursing staff and ambulance for treatment of ailing people at a district hospital in Jaisalmer.

This comes as medical services in the state remained crippled in view of the strike by doctors.

Medical services were affected in Rajasthan as nearly 8,000 government doctors went on an indefinite mass leave in support of their demands pending before the state government.

The doctors associated with the All Rajasthan State In-Service Doctors Association are on an indefinite mass leave.

The association held talks with the government yesterday after which its member doctors decided to go on strike in support of their 33 demands including the formation of a separate cadre and those related to pay grade.

Doctors from Railways were also deployed to handle the situation.
