TUMAKURU:Lokayukta sleuths conducted a raid on KPCC president Dr G Parameshwara’s Siddhartha Medical College coming up at Kuluvanahalli village in Nelamangala taluk of Bengaluru Rural district following a complaint about violation of norms.

As part of the crackdown on unauthorised godowns and buildings being conducted for the past one week, Lokayukta engineers reportedly raided the college and verified the documents. Assistant executive engineer H S Srinivasamurthy said the raid was conducted following a complaint filed by gram panchayat members. The KPCC president’s college was among those buildings raided for allegedly violating norms.
There were complaints regarding godowns constructed illegally and residential layouts created by private parties who were trying to evade tax.

“We conducted a spot visit and also verified documents. A report will be prepared following which action will be taken”, he added.GP member Jagadish alleged that the college got a building licence from Beguru gram panchayat though it falls under the Kuluvanagalli GP.

College authorities showed only eight acres on record even though its campus is spread over 32 acres, he alleged. They ignored a notice to pay `45 lakh, he added.Another GP member Kempanna alleged that “influential” people had misguided officials of the Revenue Department of the state.
