Criticising the opposition and other organisations who are observing today as ‘Black Day’, Chhattisgarh chief minister Raman Singh said that the former are doing so to safeguard the hoarders of black money. The chief minister added that today could be black day for people who hoarded black money, but it’s a happy occasion for rest of the nation. Lauding the Centre’s move, CM Singh thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union finance minister Arun Jaitley for the decision. He added that impact of the demonetisation of old notes of Rs. 500 and 1,000 is clearly visible in today’s economy. Today is the first anniversary of demonetisation, which was announced on November 8, 2016.
