Royal Enfield showcased the Continental GT 650 Twin powered by a twin-cylinder 650cc engine. We bring you all the information you want to know about the new bike.
After months of speculation, lots of spy shots and videos, Royal Enfield has finally taken the wraps off the Continental GT 650 Twin. Powered by the all-new 650cc twin cylinder engine, the Royal Enfield Continental GT 650 Twin ushers in an all-new era for the manufacturer whose entire line-up till now is made of single cylinder mid-sized bikes from 350 to 535cc.
Royal Enfield used to make twin-cylinder bikes before in the 1940s, so the company is going back to its roots. The Continental GT isn’t an all-new bike in India, as the bike is already launched here with a 535cc engine. There are many fans for its cafe racer styling and retro looks but a complaint was the lack of power. All those issues will now be addressed and solved with the Continental GT 650 Twin! There is also ABS and a slipper clutch as standard for a much safer ride now.
The vibrations and other quibbles should also be addressed with the engine upgrade. It’s still an old school engine with all the Royal Enfield traits of good torque and smooth power delivery. The engine is fuel injected, which should make fueling and throttle inputs more precise. With two silencers sporting aftermarket S&S exhausts, the notes won’t be a disappointment and will be sure to thump your heart!
- Sea Nymph
- Ice Queen
- Black Magic
There are also new colour options with the new Continental GT 650 Twin. Ice Queen is a white shade with a stripe running over the petrol tank over the logo. Sea Nymph is another shade with a light sea blue glossy finish. Black Magic as the name suggests is an all black bike with a gold stripe running perpendicular.
Launch of the Royal Enfield Continental GT 650 Twin in India is set in mid of 2018 after the European launch.
