Surat: A group of 40 Patidar Anamat Andolan Samiti (PAAS) members creating ruckus during a campaign drive of BJP led by Olpad MLA Mukesh Patel in Mota Varachha on Wednesday. The PAAS members did not allow Patel and his supporters to continue door-to-door campaign in Gopinath Society.
Amroli police booked the PAAS workers and arrested four of them- Chandresh Kakliya, Pushpak Patel, Janak Laheri, Chirag Savaliya, Nirav Bhuva and Vijay Mangukiya.
The group came and started shouting slogans of Jai Sardar Jai Patidar when BJP MLA was distributing pamphlets in different homes. Soon police arrived at the spot and warned the PAAS members to disperse to avoid conflict with BJP workers. However, when the PAAS members remained unrelenting and continued shouting slogans, police detained them and booked them for unlawful assembly. tnn
