Bootlegger arrested with 320 bottles of liquor

An alleged bootlegger, who used to pose as an Army officer and transport to Kerala, was today arrested with 320 bottles of illicit liquor, police said.

Birbal was arrested on November 7 after a trap was laid at the Railway Station, Pankaj Kumar Singh, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Metro Delhi), said.


During an interrogation, the official said Birbal disclosed that he had a polytechnic diploma in computer engineering from the Board of Technical Education of Rajasthan, Sikar, but he could not get a job.

"After assurance of good profit from a person in Chittur in Kerala, Birbal was tempted to supply because of his unemployment. He also hired a person called Sunil for a salary of Rs 12,000 per month for this," Singh said.

Futher investigation is on to nab others in the network, he said.
