SURAT: BJP president Amit Shah exhorted party workers to ensure that BJP won 150 seats in the upcoming assembly elections in Gujarat.

"Let's go to people telling them about the work that the BJP governments have done in the state and at the Centre for them. We have done nothing that we should be ashamed of," he told around 1,100 BJP workers and office-bearers of Surat city and district units here on Tuesday.

The BJP president said the party needs to romp home with more than 150 seats to root out Congress completely from the state. He asked workers to work accordingly and said if BJP wins 150 seats in the elections to be held in December, it will be solely on the strength of party workers.

There has not been a single case of corruption in the government headed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the Centre in over three years of its rule, said Shah adding that Congress is synonymous with corruption.

Shah said, "Demonetization was a historical decision. This is why we would be celebrating it in the country as Anti-Black Money Day on November 08."

Each worker would participate in Gujarat Gaurav Navsampark Abhiyan from November 7 to 13. Our party workers would inform people about the development schemes launched by the government during the door-to-door campaign, he said. "Party workers would reach Narendrabhai's message to each household during this time," he added.
