State govt to set up five incubators

HYDERABAD: In the first meeting of the working committee, Telangana State Council for Higher Education (TSCHE) chairman Prof Papi Reddy said that the government will set up five incubators. “Three working committees would be set up to look into the setting up of the incubators. Based on their recommendations it would be decided which area of specialisation —  IT, science, commerce — would the incubators cater to,” he said. 

These incubators would allow students to take a plunge as entrepreneurs while studying. For a four-year course, students could study for three years and then take up an internship. The internship would be seen as work experience and whenever the students want they can resume their studies. While the committee did not reveal a deadline for the constitution of the working committees or its members, Prof Papi Reddy said that all the stakeholders would be involved. In addition to setting up of the incubators, the committees would also deal with reforming the current syllabus. 

Prof Papi Reddy also added that there is a need to create awareness about Central government jobs. While lakhs apply for State Government jobs, only 1 per cent of people from the state hold central government jobs, he said.
