Indore: Mystery as charred body found in burnt car boot

Indore: Sanawad police on Tuesday afternoon found a charred body stuffed inside the boot of a car, which was also burnt and abandoned in agriculture field about a kilometre away from Indore-Ichhapur state highway near Baswa village. Police are yet to establish the identity of the body as it is burnt beyond recognition. The body had a gold ring and chain on it.
Meanwhile, police said that Anshul Jain of Bhagwandeen Nagar, Indore had on Monday evening lodged a missing complaint with Bhanwarkua police that his father Anil Jain, 55, did not return home after he went out in his Hyundai Verna car (MP 09 CN 8950). Sanawad police station in charge Rajesh Baghel informed that residents of Baswa village on Tuesday morning informed police that a car is burning on the outskirt of their village.
In the morning, police called fire brigade and douse the fire. However, they were shocked to see a charred body stuffed inside the car boot. Police immediately called forensic team from Khargone as well as gathered information about the car. On the basis of registration number, it was found that the car belonged to a person residing at Bhagwandeen Nagar under Bhanwarkua police station jurisdiction.
When contacted Bhanwarkua police, it was revealed that Anshul Jain had lodged his father’s missing complaint with them on Monday evening. Sanawad police immediately called Anshul for body identification, but in vain. Police sent the body to MY Hospital Indore for post-mortem and identification could only be possible after a DNA examination, Baghel said.
Anshul, assistant manager in Axis Bank and currently posted in Sanwad informed police that he lodged his father’s missing complaint with Bhanwarkua police after he failed to return home on Monday evening.
Anshul said that his father was involved in grain trading and also running hostel in Vishnupuri area. On Monday, at around 6 pm, he got a phone call from one Dilip Thekedar, a resident of Musakhedi asking Anil Jain to reach at his place to select flooring for his hostel. Initially, Anil was reluctant to go to Dilip’s place and asked him to choose flooring as per his will, but Thekedar asked him to reach at his place. Later, Anil went to Musakhedi in his Hyundai Verna car, Anshul said.
An hour later, when Anshul called his father to know about his whereabouts, the phone was switched off. When Anshul could not contact his father after two hours, he suspected some foul play and approached Bhanwarkua police. But the police personnel present there asked him to wait for some more time and they will lodge his complaint on Tuesday morning, if his father failed to return.
Meanwhile, on Tuesday at around noon, he got phone call from Bhanwarkua police station informing about the recovery of the unidentified body.
