With Chris Hemswoth reprising his role as God of Thunder in Thor Ragnarok, the film has recorded thunderous collection at the box office across the world. In India, the film released alongside Sonakshi Sinha and Sidharth Malhotra starrer Ittefaq but is miles ahead of the Bollywood film in terms of box office collections. Until the fifth day, Thor Ragnarok managed to collect approximately Rs 35 crore at the Indian box office.

This Friday, Thor Ragnarok will witness some competition at the Indian theaters with the release of Irrfan Khan starrer Qarib Qarib Singlle and Rajkummar Rao starrer Shaadi Mein Zaroor Aana.

The Marvel film is being touted as the best film from the franchise yet and with the response it has been getting, it seems like the DC film, Justice League, will have to battle it out against the Avengers heroes. Thor Ragnarok is the biggest non-holiday Friday collection this year for Hollywood movies and has beaten all other Friday releases by miles. It is also the 2nd highest opening for any Hollywood film in 2017.

Thor Ragnarok reunites Chris Hemsworth’s Thor with Mark Ruffalo’s Bruce Banner/Hulk. The duo was last seen in Avengers: Age of Ultron and their absence was deeply felt in Captain America: Civil War. Other actors in Thor Ragnarok include Cate Blanchett, Tessa Thompson, Tom Hiddleston, Jeff Goldblum, Idris Elba and Anthony Hopkins. Director Taika Waititi is being showered with a lot of praise for his take on the Thor franchise. Thor Ragnarok has also surpassed the combined lifetime collection of the first two Thor movies, in India in just three days.
