NOIDA: A delegation of Noida RWA federation met chief minister Yogi Adityanath in Lucknow on Wednesday and submitted a memorandum on common civic issues concerning the city. These include laying of underground power cables, dedicated waste management and disposal mechanism, the establishment of separate maintenance division in Noida Authority to cater to the civic issues of the city and ensuring that NGT guidelines on increasing pollution are followed.

"We met the chief minister on Wednesday at the Sachivalaya in Lucknow and apprised him of all the burning issues relating to Noida city and the district at large. Apart from the issues, we also urged the CM to increase police force in Noida We also requested the CM to include Noida as a smart city and urged for inclusion of RWA representatives in Noida board for the same," N P Singh, president of FONRWA, told TOI.

The RWA federation also demanded the establishment of a separate maintenance division in Noida authority as against a municipality.

On converting Noida land into freehold, the RWA federation pleaded that despite being set up more than 40 years ago, Noida has followed the system of leasehold since its inception. " The system of lease hold does not exist in any other prominent city in Uttar Pradesh. While in the case of Greater Noida, the land has been allotted to agencies of Ansal and DLF Group on a freehold basis for developing townships, the lease hold lands in the equally developed neighbouring city of Delhi has also been converted into freehold more than 30 years ago. In view of the above facts, we apprised the CM that the conversion of Noida land into free hold is fully justified and should be implemented with immediate effect," said AN Dhawan, secretary general of FONRWA.

CM Yogi, the federation said, has asked the three-member ministerial committee to address the issues of the residents and submit a report.
