Tirupur: Police stations in Tirupur will sport display boards informing about laws pertaining to child protection. Deputy commissioner (law and order) Kayilvizhi Anbarasu inaugurated the scheme by unveiling two boards at North police station on Wednesday.
The two boards contain information about Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act, 2012 and Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Act, 2015. The boards will be displayed in all the 11 city police stations, including two all women police stations. The District Child Welfare Committee will fund for displaying the boards.
Kayalvizhi said, "The information given in the boards will be short. It could be easily understood even by the people who do not have any knowledge about the laws. We hope that the boards will be helpful to spread awareness about the acts and subsequently, the abuse against the children will be reduced."
