The teaser of Kannada superstar Shivarajkumar’s upcoming film Tagaru was launched amid huge fanfare in Bengaluru on Tuesday at a star-studded event. The event was attended by hundreds of fans and other top celebrities of Sandalwood, including Shivarajkumar’s star brothers Puneeth Rajkumar and Raghavendra Rajkumar. Tollywood actor Allu Sirish was the chief guest at the event, which also had up-and-coming star Rakshit Shetty in attendance.

Tagaru, which is directed by Duniya Soori, is a gangster drama, which is Shivarajkumar’s forte. The actor has created a niche for himself in the industry playing gangster roles in the majority of his films spanning over three decades.

“I should thank Soori for this film. I’m confident that we have made a different film. While doing this film, I understood that we can narrate a usual story in a very different way,” said the 55-year-old actor, while thanking the entire cast and crew of the film.  Shivarajkumar and Soori have worked together before Tagaru. They both delivered a hit film in 2013 called Kaddipudi.

Talking about Tagaru, Puneeth said he was confident that the film has come out well. “Tagaru will be good and it requires all your (fans) blessings. I wish a great success for the film as I’m also a big fan of Shivarajkumar,” he said. Veteran Indian cricket player G R Vishwanath was also felicitated by Tagaru team on the occasion.

Sirish spoke mostly in Kannada and expressed his desire to work in the Kannada film industry. He said he made his debut in Malayalam alongside Mohanlal with 1971 Beyond Borders and he wish to enter the Sandalwood with a film, starring Shivarajkumar.

At the end of the teaser launch event, Shivarajkumar, Allu Sirish, Rakshit Shetty enthralled the fans at the Town Hall in Bengaluru by dancing to a popular musical number from Rakshit Shetty’s hit film Ulidavaru Kandanthe.

Tagaru is bankrolled by K P Srikanth and also stars Manvitha Harish, Bhavana Menon, Dhananjaya and Vashistha Simha in important roles. Composer Charan Raj has scored the music for the actioner.
