Housejoy appoints Bhaskar Raju Konduru as CTO

BENGALURU: Housejoy has brought on board entrepreneur and technological evangelist Bhaskar Raju Konduru as its new chief technology officer. Konduru was one of the founding members of the popular travel app Redbus and a co-founder of HelloClass.
“Bhaskar brings with him years of experience in building world-class systems, especially from scratch and then scaling them manifold. We are especially excited about leveraging this rich experience in building best-in-class solutions and thus bringing a lot of automation in our ops processes,” said Saran Chatterjee, CEO, Housejoy.
“Technology can act as an enabler to organise the unorganised markets and bring cutting-edge technology and highly customised solutions in the home services market. I have always wanted to work on something impactful and meaningful to solve the basic fundamentals and that’s why I decided to get into the services space that needs massive work in India,” said Konduru on the appointment.
Konduru has domain knowledge spanning across various technological spheres such as designing different products from scratch, cloud services, big data, role-based access control (RBAC) implementation, transaction system and inventory system, to name a few. He has been brought on board to create a strong technological backbone for Housejoy.
Housejoy was launched in January 2015 to provide an aggregation of home services to customers. They perform a wide variety of services ranging from maintenance and home repairs to high quality plumbing, electrical services, home cleaning and computer repairs. The startup additionally offers specialised services in beauty and in-house bridal make-up and is expanding its service portfolio. Housejoy is operational in 5 cities across the nation and has raised 4$ million in Series A funding from Matrix Partners and has raised 23$ million in series B led by Amazon and included new investors Vertex Ventures, Qualcomm, and Ru-Net Technology Partners.
