DUSU seeks closure of colleges till Sunday

University Students Union (DUSU) President Rocky Tuseed on Wednesday demanded that University should keep the colleges closed till Sunday in the wake of alarming pollution level in the city.

In a letter to DU Vice Chancellor Yogesh Tyagi, Tuseed said that pollution levels in had reached extremely alarming levels despite warnings to the agencies concerned and the government has announced closure of all schools as the PM2.5 levels can adversely effect the health of children.

"I believe that the poor air quality will also have an extremely harmful effect on health of the DU students," Tuseed said.

Referring to impending examinations, he said that health and safety of students should be of paramount concern and requested Tyagi to "issue appropriate directions asking all DU colleges to remain shut till Sunday".
