Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Tuesday inaugurated a two-day mega job fair in the Capital intended to give opportunities to young and qualified jobseekers.
According to the Delhi government, about 74 companies had approached it to recruit candidates for an estimated 11,500 vacancies of various nature and about 30,000 to 35,000 job seekers could avail the opportunities on offer.
Another fair soon
Minister of Employment, Gopal Rai, presided over the function where he stated that the Delhi government would organise such job fairs in the near future too so that more young people get job opportunities.
This is the third time the Delhi government has organised such an event at the Thyagaraj Stadium. According to Mr. Rai, more than 270 divyang youth had been recruited by over 20 companies.
Meanwhile, Mr. Kejriwal said that about 36,000 vacancies for various levels were lying vacant in several departments of the Delhi government and he would urge L-G Anil Baijal to give his approval for filling up these posts.
Skill centres
“The Delhi government is committed to arranging better job opportunities for the young, aspiring and qualified youth. My government has planned to arrange for training and placement or employment to 70,000 youth by opening 70 world-class skill centres in Delhi. With a capacity of 1,000 each, 70 such centres will be made available for imparting skills and training and 100% placement,” the Chief Minister said.
Mr. Kejriwal added that at present the government had developed one world-class skill centre at Vivek Vihar and targeted the opening of 25 such skill centres by August next year.
