RAJKOT: A 45-year-old man was allegedly beaten to death by two unidentified persons on Jamnagar Road on Monday night. The deceased was identified as Bharat Devipujak.
According to the police, Bharat's wife had gone in the open to answer nature's call near the railway crossing on Monday evening. There, two men came and asked her about Bharat. The woman got frightened and called for help. Hearing her voice, Bharat came running and confronted the duo.
Their arguments escalated into a fist fight and later the duo smashed Bharat with iron pipes, killing him on the spot. Police investigation revealed that earlier Bharat had an altercation with the duo after they accused him of stealing scrap material from them. Police have booked two unidentified persons for murder.
