VIJAYAWADA: Decrying the injustice being meted out to them, tribals from villages under Seethampeta ITDA in Srikakulam district staged a protest demonstration in Vijayawada on Tuesday. Speaking to mediapersons on the occasion, leaders of Joint Action Committee of tribal organisations said tribal youth in Seethampeta ITDA are being cheated out of the jobs, that should have been genuinely given to them.

They said non-tribals in the name of Bentho Oriya are cornering the jobs denying the opportunities to genuine beneficiaries. They said TCR and TI committee has made it clear that there were no Bentho Oriyas in Seethampeta ITDA.

The demands they put forth are including 700 tribal villages of Seethampeta ITDA under Schedule V, providing jobs to genuine tribal youth, recruitment of tribal teachers through separate DSC, filling of backlog posts under ITDA, allocating CRT posts to eligible tribal youth and removal of 2,000 fake Bentho Oriyas from the jobs provided to them.
